A Benin High Court on Monday imprisoned a mother and her two youngsters for trafficking a 19-year-old young lady to Russia for sexual abuse.
The lady, Helen Ehioze , sacked 10 years in prison while her child, Endurance Ehiozee, 37, and little girl, Vivian Ehiozee, 31, were condemned to 14 years each, without a choice of fine.
The argument against the threesome was organized in 2017.
The directing Judge, Justice Geraldine Imadegbelo, saw the convicts as liable of contradicting Sections 15 and 16 of the 2003 law on dealing with people.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the person in question (name retained), presently 27 years of age, was dealt to Russia in 2012 by the threesome when she was only 19 years of age.
The Prosecutor, Mrs Rosemary Emodogo, blamed the convicts for repudiating the areas of the 2003 law, as changed in 2005, which restrict the dealing of people for prostitution.
Presently before they were condemned, Counsel to the convicts, Mr. J. Omigie, argued for a merciful sentence, bringing up that they were first wrongdoers and had no earlier criminal records.
